Reflection on A Streetcar Name Desire

I like this play more than the play before. This is because Streetcar name desire is something that I can understand well The play started with the storyline where Stanley Kowalski - The husband of Stella show he himself that he had tragic with Blanche. He is loyal to his friends, passionate to his wife, and heartlessly cruel to Blanche. By the play’s end, he is a disturbing degenerate: he beats his wife and rapes his sister-in-law. Horrifyingly, he shows no remorse.
Blanche on the other hand, is the character that I hate most in the movie. She represents the shame of women as she flirts around with any guys. Although she has a lots of sad pass, but I really can’t stand a teacher flirting around with her innocent and guilty face when he meet with any guys, and pretend to be young and pity. The most terrible thing that I piss off with her is when she asks Mitch to marry her. She really humiliates all the women in the world. She shouldn’t do that. But one thing felt sad is that her relationship has been destroyed by Stanley and she has been raped by Stanley and she had been committed to an insane asylum at last.

After watching it, it gives me a more clear picture of what a streetcar name desire is. i started to love the story, the characters, the setting, the plots, but not the theme.....

Like what Min Hui said, I also like this play more than the other plays. It is because the language is easier and the story is interesting. I agree that Stanley is loyal to his friends, passionate to his wife but he is a rude person that I cannot accept. Min Hui said that Blanche is the character that she hate most in the movie; then Stanley will be the character that I hate most in the movie. It is true that Blanche flirts around with guys is a shame but she is not born to be like that, she changed because of her misfortune. On the other hand, I cannot accept that Stanley beat his pregnant wife and rapes his sister-in-law. I really hope that he will get some punishment in the end of the play but it doesn’t happen, instead Blanche had been committed to an insane asylum at last. Anywhere, I enjoyed watching the play.
